Setting: The setting will be set in school as this is a place that the target audience will mostly be able to relate to.
Characters: There will be 4 main characters all of a different stereotype. There will be an equal ratio of girls to boys to reinforce that this show in unisex. The characters will include:
- Popular girl (Izzi): Good looking, Boys fancy her.
- Sporty boy (Max): Good looking, Girls fancy him.
- Geek (Molly): Girl, Glasses, Dressed accordingly
- Bully (Dean): The 'bad boy', wears lots of black leather, spiky hair
Plot: Shows each of the characters individually and then together at the end. Each of their individualities are shown. For example Max will be seen playing basketball which is something that he enjoys.
Music: Upbeat song to show the audience that the show is lighthearted.
Below is a shot-list diagram of how i would like my main product to be, followed by a storyboard of my audiovisual media:
Script:
Popular Girl (Izzi): Izzi will be shown looking into the mirror in the girls toilets, she will be posing and playing with her hair to reinforce that she is very much interested in how she looks. She will be dressed fashionably with her main item of clothing being a pink cardigan or jacket. Izzi will generally be shown as vein. She will then blow a kiss to the camera and her name will appear above in a curly and pink writing to represent her femininity.
Sporty Boy (Max): Max will be introduced playing basketball, he will shoot a hoop which will therefore represent him as 'cool'. Max will be dressed in sporty clothing and similarly to Izzi will be represented as a popular person. He will then smile at the camera and his name will appear in a blue simple font.
Geek (Molly): Molly is introduced solving mathematical equations on the whiteboard in a classroom. She will be wearing stereo-typically geeky clothes such as glasses, a shirt and a tie, this will be accompanied with her hair in pig-tails. Molly will then smile at the camera and her name will appear in a curly orange font.
Bully (Dean): Dean is introduced making fun of people. He will be wearing a band t-shirt with a black leather jacket and wearing a chain around his neck. Billy will look at the camera and his name will appear in a black bold font such as 'Cooper Black' to represent his personality.
After each character is introduced, there is a wide-shot of all of them jumping to reinforce the name of the show "Jump-Up High", this will then freeze into a still-shot of all the characters.
Above is an animatics video of my storyboard. I have added the theme tune I would like to use in my main product which is called 'college days'. I thought this theme tune suited well to what I want my product to be as it's upbeat and catchy which gives off a positive image about the show, portraying it as lighthearted and exciting. I have also added a 'flip' effect between each frame which i would like to use in my main product as I feel this makes the opening seem more appealing to my specific target audience of children.
